Journalism Hacked by Actors
Journalism has been one of the most respected profession. The opinions of journalists have been valued in making various political and diplomatic decisions, but with the rise of commercialization, high competition and the race of becoming top news channel, actors and entertainers have taken over the place of journalists and journalism now a days has become a source of earning for both anchors and channels where honesty and unbiased reporting has become a myth.
In Pakistan from the indirect rivalry among different channels, it has become a direct rivalry where one channel can openly criticize other channels and put baseless allegations on other journalists of bribery and even of treason without any proof what so ever. Social media has been used widely by these channels to brain wash the people against their competitors.
Journalism used to be unbiased, where the role of journalists was to put forward facts and figures they obtained through investigations and inform the people about the truth of various issues (backed by original facts and figures) and it had credibility. But today so called journalists are openly biased, they participate openly in political activities of one party and criticize rest in their respective talk shows without any proof, yet claiming to be unbiased.
News channels are indeed playing a role of conspirators especially in Pakistan as in most of the talk shows the role of anchor is to put forward his/her own opinion as true news, and majority of Pakistan's population fails to realize the difference between opinion and news.
In past few months there has been series of incidence where number of false news has been spread by certain tv channels only to find out next day that the news was fake, but still it doesn't affected the viewership or credibility of these channels, this shows the extent of damage already done to the brains of people, even after finding out that a certain tv channel is spreading false news they still believe in it, one reason of this is blind following of political leaders, a tv channel which supports a certain political leader gains support of all his supporters and these supporters believe in anything aired provided that it favors them and their leader.
This is the reason why news channels are biased these days, in order to increase viewership they take sides of political parties to win the hears of supporters.
